About Normalize Volume

Normalize Volume brings a recording to a consistent, comfortable loudness — useful when a voice memo came out too quiet, or when clips recorded on different devices jump in volume between them. It targets the broadcast loudness standard used for spoken word.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from just turning the volume up?
Turning it up raises everything, including noise, and can clip the loud parts. Normalising measures perceived loudness across the whole recording and adjusts to a consistent target, with headroom kept so nothing distorts.
Will it fix a badly recorded file?
It fixes level problems, not noise. If there is background noise, run Remove Background Noise first, then normalise.
Are my files private?
Yes. Files are processed on our server and deleted automatically a short time later — we never store, read or share them.
