Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my file get?
It depends on the original. A WAV recording can shrink by 90% or more; an already-compressed MP3 will shrink less. We never return a file larger than the one you uploaded.
Will it sound worse?
At the recommended level the difference is hard to hear on speech. Choose the lighter level if the recording is music or you need higher fidelity.
Are my files private?
Yes. Files are processed on our server and deleted automatically a short time later — we never store, read or share them.
